The button switch can be classified according to the mode of operation and the way of protection. The types and characteristics of the buttons are common:
(1) open type: suitable for inlay, fixed on switch board, control cabinet or console panel.
(2) protective: a protective housing that prevents internal button parts from mechanical damage or touching parts of the live parts,
(3) waterproof: with a sealed outer casing, to prevent rainwater intrusion.
(4) anticorrosion type: it can prevent the invasion of chemical corrosive gas.
(5) explosion proof: it can be used in places containing explosive gas and dust without explosion, such as coal mine.
(6) knob type: use hand to rotate operation contact, there are two positions to break through, usually panel mounted type.
(7) key type: the key is inserted, rotated and operated to prevent misoperation or special operation.
(8) emergency type: red mushroom button out of the head, cut off the power supply as soon as possible.
(9) self holding button: the button is equipped with self-sustaining electromagnetic devices, mainly used in power plants, substations or test equipment, operators to communicate signals and send instructions, etc., is generally panel operations.
(10) button with lights: the button is equipped with a signal lamp, in addition to the release of operating instructions, but also as signal instructions, and more used in the control cabinet, console panel.
(11) combination type: multiple buttons combination.
(12) interlocking: interlocking of multiple contacts.
